In the era of digital transformation, online shopping has become an integral part of our daily lives. Two prominent players in this domain are resale platforms and e-commerce shopping platforms. While both offer a wide range of products, their logistics delivery systems often differ significantly. This study aims to compare the timeliness and accuracy of logistics delivery between these two types of platforms.
To conduct this study, we analyzed data from 100 transactions each from a leading resale platform and a major e-commerce platform. The key metrics considered were delivery time, percentage of on-time deliveries, and accuracy of delivered items.
On average, e-commerce platforms delivered orders within 3 days, while resale platforms took 5 days. E-commerce platforms showed more consistency in delivery times.
E-commerce platforms had an accuracy rate of 98%, compared to 92% for resale platforms. This was primarily due to better inventory management systems.
Customers reported higher satisfaction levels with e-commerce platforms, citing faster and more accurate deliveries as key reasons.
The results indicate that e-commerce platforms generally outperform resale platforms in both timeliness and accuracy of logistics delivery. This can be attributed to their advanced supply chain management systems and dedicated logistics networks.
While resale platforms offer unique products and competitive pricing, they lag behind e-commerce platforms in terms of delivery efficiency. Enhancing their logistics infrastructure could significantly improve their competitiveness.
